Product Design
As a designer, I'm interested in translating emotions and everyday experiences into tangible forms. My work explores how design can go beyond functionality, shaping not only how objects are used, but how they are felt, perceived, and remembered. Through material, form, and interaction, I aim to design more products, solve more problems, and ultimately create better, more meaningful lives.
Statement of Intent
My unique physical experience, including having one kidney, thalassemia, mixed vision, and frequent nosebleeds, has instilled in me a cherishing of life's fragility and uniqueness. My sensitivity extends to my surroundings, allowing me to perceive subtle changes in people and understand their needs.
Physical experiences had often made me feel different from my peers. It sometimes isolated me, leading to feelings of frustration and anxiety. In facing these challenges, I discovered the importance of resilience and adaptation. Instead of allowing my circumstances to define me, I chose to channel my emotions into my design. For me, product design goes beyond aesthetics; it is about creating meaningful solutions for everyday living.
The experience of learning product design has taught me that it is a comprehensive field that combines empathy and strategy, and that it strengthens my research, teamwork, ideation, and prototyping skills, which have consolidated my desire and passion for product design. I’m attracted by the human-centered theme of product design, analyzing context, finding requirements, generating different solutions and refining.
In Product Design 1, the project of the educational product for museum in Los Angeles aims to help museums for cultural transmission and give teenagers a better educational experience. This design process shows me that product design is not basically solving human essential problems; It also aims to improve people’s life quality, which is also my final objective of being a designer.
In the future, I aspire to develop design that transcend mere utility, fostering emotional connections and enriching the lives of those who interact with them. I am eager to contribute to a community that values design with purpose and whose collective ambition is to create positive, lasting change in the world.
